Emergency Response System

Medical Alert System, Response Link

THE VILLAGES - Living independently is what many seniors strive to do for as long as they can, and with Response Link, a personal 24-hour emergency response system, residents can press a button on a wrist or necklace pendant if they have fallen, feel ill or unsafe, and help will immediately be on its way.

Response Link is endorsed by, and in partnership with, The Villages Regional Hospital, said Ken Peach, director of community relations and marketing for the hospital.

"This is really an assurance device," Peach said. "It provides peace of mind."

"I love the service and I see how it saves lives," said Rosemary Suranyi, program manager of Response Link for The Villages Regional Hospital and regional marketing director for the service in Marion, Lake and Sumter counties.

Response Link is a new service offered through the hospital, and 10 residents have subscribed for it to date, Suranyi said.
